Interaction Questions:

  1. What are some false gospels that Christians may encounter in the world today?
  • Where do they hear these false teachings? Can you correct these false teachings with Scripture?
  • How can we help one another to be careful who we listen to?
  • What’s one way you can protect your family and church from this kind of false teaching?
  1. How should believers respond to "rebellious people" in the church? (1:10-13) What were the rebellious people doing that Paul so strongly condemned? (1:11)?

  1. What is the danger of professing to know God but not actually living it out? (verse 16)
  • Are there areas in your life where you know you are missing the mark? What would it look like to confess it to God and obey?
  • Everyone has "blind spots" where they can't see where they are missing the mark. Who is someone you can ask to help you see your blind spots?

  1. God has given Elders to the church for your good, as they are called to watch over your soul. How has God called you to respond to such leadership in the church (1 Thessalonians 5:12-13; Hebrews 13:17-18)? What is one way this week you can encourage someone who has been called into spiritual leadership?
