1. Why do you think being able to identify deceivers is so important to the author of First John?
2. What reasons are given in 1 John 4:1 for not believing every spirit? What should we do instead?
3. What does John explain as the simple difference between those who come from God and those
who don’t? If one is truly led by the Spirit of God what will they confess?
4. What difference does it make if Jesus came as a full human?
5. Who have we overcome (verse 4)? What does it mean to overcome? How have we overcome?
So, then who is it really doing the overcoming?
6. When and how have you felt the Holy Spirit warn against anti-Christ or anti-Christian ideas?
